IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ORDERS TO EUROPE DISPATCHED FROM OUR LONDON (UK) OFFICE

Although we have an office in Europe (Dublin, Ireland) there are occasions when we will only have the item/s a customer has ordered in our UK office. Sending items to the EU from the UK can incur customs duty. If the item/s ordered are only available in the UK, we will contact you to ask if you still wish us to go ahead with your order. We can, if stock allows, offer alternative item/s from the stock we have in our Dublin office.

Some delays may arise due to local customs procedures. These are unfortunately out of our control.

Please allow for longer shipping times during busy holiday periods.

Once your order ships you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number that can be used to track your order (please check your spam folder as it is an automated email). For any queries please email info@theethicalsilkco.com

The price quote for duties is determined by the destination customs authority. We do not ship to P.O. boxes.

For UK customers, VAT is added during checkout, however we aren't in control of any import duties that might be levied to you as the customer.

Please note, there may be occasions when the courier company levies a fee for handling customs processes, which is charged to the recipient. This occurs rarely, but we do want to highlight this possibility.

A word about deliveries that have not reached you.
Very occasionally, customers advise us that an order they placed that has been marked as delivered by our couriers to their given address, has actually not arrived. If this happens, please follow the process as detailed below:
Advise us that the parcel has not reached you via info@theethicalsilkco.com. Please add your order number to the email.
Within 7 working days, report the issue to your local police force and obtain a crime reference number (or equivalent)
Pass the reference number to us, again at info@theethicalsilkco.com
We will then go ahead and issue you with a refund for the missing items.
We would like to re-iterate that this type of issue happens only on very seldom occasions and we do request that our couriers obtain a signature on delivery. We will do our utmost to resolve the situation for you.

OUR PACKAGING

We keep our packaging to a minimum to have as little impact on the planet as possible but ensure that your order is well protected during its journey to you.

We wrap each mulberry silk piece for you in biodegradable tissue (when available). Smaller items are then placed in a clear eco bag made from corn starch (annually renewable) and that is compostable. Larger items are placed in our blue bags (with a rope handle and excellent to use for precious items you may want to store) that are made from 40% recycled card, and fully recyclable.

Please note that items purchased during one of our sale periods, or from our Archive Sale, will be wrapped in tissue but larger items will be placed in a brown paper bag rather than our blue bags with a rope handle.

Your purchase is then given its ‘outerwear’ packaging made of 100% recycled materials, which again, is fully recyclable.

We are always trying to improve our packaging options and keep our ear ‘close to the ground’ for any new eco packaging options.

Gift wrapping

We want to help you to make your mulberry silk gift so special. At the checkout do let us know, in the box provided, if you would like us to gift wrap your order and pop in a little personal note. We will beautifully package it with tissue and ribbon and send it out with our love. There is no charge for this service.
