Slow Fashion
The pace of our production is one of the things that makes our pieces unique.
Our mulberry silk production can't be hurried. As a natural fabric, it is ready when it is ready. Although, our mulberry silk is farmed, we operate responsible practices and only use silk fibres that are extracted after the silk worms have transformed into moths and left their cocoons. If the moths are a little late hatching then we must wait for them.
We are only able to block print our silk at certain times of the year as it must be dried outside in the fresh air. Drying indoors can damage the delicate fabric with lingering moisture. Block printing cannot take place during the heavy rains of the monsoon, so we have a limited time we can produce our beautiful prints.
We hold the slow fashion mindset and appreciate the artform of diligence, patience and conscious production.
