PACKAGING

We are always trying to improve our packaging options. We keep our standard packaging to a minimum and to ensure each order is protected during its shipment, we wrap our products in tissue paper and use a clear eco bag made from corn starch (annually renewable) that is compostable (sourced from Ecoland). Our standard mailers are made from 100% recycled material and are 100% recyclable (sourced from Lil Packaging).

During checkout there is the option to let us know if an item is a gift so we can gift wrap, at no extra charge. Our larger products and gifts are gift wrapped in tissue paper and placed in a gift bag, made from 40% recycled card that is fully recyclable. 

SHIPPING

Shipping costs are at a flat rate of €9.00 per order within Rep. of Ireland and €15.00 worldwide. Free shipping applies to all orders over €100 / USD$100 / £100. Below this value, shipping costs are:
US $15/Canada $20.00
€9 (Rep. of Ireland)
£8.50 (UK)
€15 (Rest of the world)

All orders are packed and dispatched to our couriers from our business unit within 3-4 working days.

Below, please find details of the approximate delivery schedules for orders once with our couriers:

US/Canada: FedEx (approx. 3 days)
Ireland: DPD (approx. 2 days)
UK : DPD (under £135) & FedEx (over £135) (approx. 3 days)
Europe: Tracked via An Post/FedEx/DPD (approx. 5-7 days)
Rest of the world: Tracked post with An Post (approx. 10 - 15 working days)

Some delays may arise due to local customs procedures. These are unfortunately out of our control.

Please allow for longer shipping times during busy holiday periods. 

 

Once your order ships you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number that can be used to track your order (please check your spam folder as it is an automated email). For any queries please email info@theethicalsilkco.com

The price quote for duties is determined by the destination customs authority. We do not ship to P.O. boxes.

For UK customers, VAT is added during checkout, however we aren't in control of any import duties that might be levied to you as the customer. 

Please note, there may be occasions when the courier company levies a fee for handling customs processes, which is charged to the recipient. This occurs rarely, but we do want to highlight this possibility.

A word about deliveries that have not reached you.
Very occasionally, customers advise us that an order they placed that has been marked as delivered by our couriers to their given address, has actually not arrived. If this happens, please follow the process as detailed below:
Advise us that the parcel has not reached you via info@theethicalsilkco.com. Please add your order number to the email.
Within 7 working days, report the issue to your local police force and obtain a crime reference number (or equivalent)
Pass the reference number to us, again at info@theethicalsilkco.com
We will then go ahead and issue you with a refund for the missing items. 
We would like to re-iterate that this type of issue happens only on very seldom occasions and we do request that our couriers obtain a signature on delivery. We will do our utmost to resolve the situation for you. 

 

WHAT IS THE RETURNS POLICY?

We are sure you will be delighted with your purchase and will enjoy it for many years to come. However, if you are not entirely satisfied, please email info@theethicalsilkco.com within 14 days from receipt of your order to let us know why you would like to return a piece/s. Following this, you then have a further 14 days to return the piece/s to the relevant returns address as shown below.

A detailed size guide is accessible on each product page, along with information about block printing and caring for your silk. Please take the time to read through and check sizing as The Ethical Silk Company will not pay for the cost of returns unless the goods are incorrect, faulty or damaged. This does not affect your statutory rights.

All items must be returned unworn, with all swing tags included and the original packaging.  When returning goods, please obtain proof of postage as The Ethical Silk Company cannot accept responsibility for items which fail to reach us.
*Please note, items purchased in our Archive Sale or our Eye Masks (both Archive Sale and non sale) cannot be refunded but we can offer an exchange, if stock is available, or issue a credit note.
EXCHANGES
If you would like a different size, colour etc., please let us know by emailing us at: info@theethicalsilkco.com and return your item to the relevant returns address, as shown above.  We will ship a replacement once we have received the item for exchange.  A refund will be given if we don't have the particular item you would like in stock. 
Please bear in mind that natural silk, like all natural materials, can occasionally have a slight irregularity in its weave. All our printed products are printed by hand using artisan techniques of block printing. Slight imperfections in colour and patterns are characteristic of block printing, making each piece unique, a one of a kind. We see these as a sign of the garment's authenticity and its hand made beauty.

Caring for silk

Printed by hand using artisan technique of block printing. Slight irregularities in colour and patterns are characteristic of block printing, making each piece unique. These imperfections are a celebrated as a sign of the garment's authenticity and its handmade beauty.

Dyes used are AZO free, low impact dyes. Water used in dyeing process is treated & recycled. Working with silk, a natural fabric, means there may be a subtle difference in the tone of the colours to that pictured here.

Our loungewear is designed to be a comfortable, relaxed fit as there is no stretch in the silk. If you are between sizes we recommend going up a size but for an accurate size, please use our size chart.

Committed to always using ethical tailoring units, The Ethical Silk Company products are made in Fairtrade tailoring unit Mehera Shaw, located in Jaipur, India. By partnering with Fairtrade units, we, and our customers can have peace of mind in the production of our products.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Committing to our social responsibility, The Ethical Silk Company has pledged to donate 10% profits to charity. Having visited the Jeevan Jyothi AIDS Centre in Theni, and witnessed first hand the tireless work carried out by the staff, I decided to pledge 5% company profits to the centre. Focus Ireland, a charity that works to prevent people becoming, remaining or returning to homelessness, also receive 5% company profits.
