PACKAGING

We are always trying to improve our packaging options. We keep our standard packaging to a minimum and to ensure each order is protected during its shipment, we wrap our products in tissue paper and use a clear eco bag made from corn starch (annually renewable) that is compostable (sourced from Ecoland). Our standard mailers are made from 100% recycled material and are 100% recyclable (sourced from Lil Packaging).

During checkout there is the option to let us know if an item is a gift so we can gift wrap, at no extra charge. Our larger products and gifts are gift wrapped in tissue paper and placed in a gift bag, made from 40% recycled card that is fully recyclable.

SHIPPING

Shipping costs are at a flat rate of €9.00 per order within Rep. of Ireland and €15.00 worldwide. Free shipping applies to all orders over €100 / USD$100 / £100. Below this value, shipping costs are:

All orders are dispatched within 3-4 working days and are shipped via :

US/Canada: FedEx (approx. 3 days)

The price quote for duties is determined by the destination customs authority. We do not ship to P.O. boxes.

For UK customers, VAT is added during checkout so no additional charges are applicable upon delivery in the UK.

WHAT IS THE RETURNS POLICY?

We are sure you will be delighted with your purchase and will enjoy it for many years to come. However, if you are not entirely satisfied, please email info@theethicalsilkco.com to let us know why you are disappointed and we will issue a full refund as long as the item is not used and is returned with all it's original packaging within 28 days of purchase to the following address:

EXTENDED CHRISTMAS RETURNS.

We have extended our usual time limit for returns for the Christmas 2023 season. Any purchases made from our online store between 10^th November and 24th December can be returned for a full refund* up until 31^st January 2024. For purchases made from 25th December onwards, our usual refund policy will apply.

*Please note, items purchased in our Archive Sale cannot be refunded but we can offer an exchange, if stock is available, or issue a credit note.

When returning goods, please obtain proof of postage as The Ethical Silk Company cannot accept responsibility for items which fail to reach us.

A detailed size guide is accessible on each product page, along with information about block printing and caring for your silk. Please take the time to read through and check sizings as The Ethical Silk Company will not pay for the cost of returns unless the goods are incorrect, faulty or damaged. This does not affect your statutory rights.

If you would like a different size, colour etc., please let us know and return your item. We will ship a replacement or issue a refund if we do not have the particular item you want in stock.

Please note, we are unable to offer a refund for pieces purchased in our Archive Sale but will happily give customers a credit note or an exchange if the stock is available. Also, one other quick thing, other discount codes are not valid against Archive Sale pieces.

Please bear in mind that natural silk, like all natural materials, can occasionally have a slight irregularity in its weave. All our printed products are printed by hand using artisan techniques of block printing. Slight imperfections in colour and patterns are characteristic of block printing, making each piece unique, a one of a kind. We see these as a sign of the garment's authenticity and its hand made beauty.

Machine washable.

Printed by hand using the artisan techniques of block printing. Slight irregularities in colour and patterns are characteristic of block printing, making each piece unique. These imperfections are embraced as a sign of the garment's authenticity and its hand made beauty.

Low impact, AZO free dyes are used in block printing. All water is treated & recycled.

As there is no stretch in the silk, our loungewear is designed to be a comfortable, relaxed fit. If you are on the cusp of a size, we recommend going up a size but please use our size chart for accurate measurements.

Committing to our social responsibility, The Ethical Silk Company has pledged to donate 10% profits to charity. Having visited the Jeevan Jyothi AIDS Centre in Theni, and witnessed first hand the tireless work carried out by the staff, I decided to pledge 5% company profits to the centre. Focus Ireland, a charity that works to prevent people becoming, remaining or returning to homelessness, also receive 5% company profits.
